Code of Conduct

Drug and Alcohol Policy

Tobacco Free Environment

New Horizons maintains a tobacco free environment. The use of tobacco of any kind is prohibited on New Horizons’ property and on the property of New Horizons’ Clients.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

New Horizons prohibits the use, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of illegal drugs. Employee’s may not be under the influence of any drug that is illegal under either state or federal law. Employees must not report to work or perform services with illegal drugs in their system or on their person. Any employee convicted of, or who pleads guilty or no contest to a crime under a criminal statute must notify New Horizons immediately.

Alcohol in the Workplace

Employees should not consume alcohol within 8 hours prior to reporting for work or performing services, and must not report for work or perform services under the influence.

Legal use of Prescription Medication

The use of prescribed legal drugs according to a licensed practitioner’s instructions or over-the-counter drugs for medicinal purposes is permitted on the job.

Drug Testing

New Horizons implements pre-employment tests for drug and/or alcohol abuse and reserves the right to conduct random testing of all employees at any given time.

Confidentiality

Any employee who fails to strictly comply with New Horizons’ Confidentiality Policy relating to confidential business information or protected health information will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment and legal action. New Horizons reserves the right to pursue any additional remedies as the circumstances warrant.

Solicitation

Employee understands and agrees that during Employee’s employment with Company, Employee will provide in home care services for the client that contract directly with Company (Company Clients) and that Company Clients are valuable assets belonging to the company and not that of the employee. With this understanding, Employee agree that during the term of this agreement and for one year ( 1 year) after the employee’s employment with company terminates (“Restricted Period”) Employee, as a private caregiver or as a employee of another person, WILL NOT, without company’s prior written consent, solicit any Company Clients or provide any in home care services as an employee of the company. Company and Employee acknowledge that the non- solicitation restriction is not intended to prohibit Employee from competing with company or providing in home care services to persons who are not Company Clients. In addition this includes the selling of products to clients.
