Easy Ways to Incorporate Meditation into Your Everyday Routine

Life can be hectic and it’s important to remember to take some time for yourself each and every day. Here are some easy ways to incorporate meditation into your daily routine.

Meditation has been proven to have some incredible benefits such as decreasing stress levels and increasing concentration. Learning how to meditate can sound intimidating, but here are a few easy tips on how you can start incorporating meditation into your daily routine:

Pick a time or a cue

Picking a certain time of day or cue of a daily activity is a great way to get into the habit of meditating. Whether it be first thing in the morning when you wake up, while you are taking your lunch break, or while you’re taking that first sip of coffee. Having a daily habit that you associate with taking the time to meditate is a great way to create that routine.

Find a comfortable place

If you can, find a comfortable and quiet place to sit during your meditations. You don’t need a fancy studio to do this! This spot could be on your living room couch or your favorite spot outdoors.

Concentrate on your breath

Try to keep all of your attention on your breath as you breathe in and out. A great way to do this is by adding a count to your breathing; for example breathing 4 counts in and 4 counts out. Test out different techniques and take note on what makes you feel the most relaxed and connected with yourself.

Try an app

Still overwhelmed or don’t know where to start on your own? There are lots of apps out there that can help you meditate. Two popular apps are Calm and Headspace.

I hope you enjoyed these tips on how to incorporate meditation into your daily routine. No matter how you decide to take time for yourself, I hope that you carve out some time to relax and reflect each day.
